Military Grade Encryption and MFA for Any Enterprise

The risk and severity of cyber-attacks have grown over the past few years. The advancement of technology and the wide use of digital media is making attackers smarter by the day. Further, the efforts to manage the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic have forced enterprises to adapt to new working models rapidly. At the heart of this is a complex and fast-changing web of digital infrastructure. Two-factor authentication or single username/password combination is no longer up to the standard in implementing strong data security protections, especially in the government, finance, insurance, and higher education sector, which are regulated by legislation such as the Gramm-Leach- Bliley Act, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

“We are highly focused on ensuring that we always meet the highest security levels,” begins Grant Evans, chairman, and CEO of SPYRUS. The company provides a wide range of encryption and authentication-based solutions designed to exceed the highest security certifications, allowing deployments to all industries, government agencies, and corporate establishments globally. In terms of meeting government standards and security requirements, there are not many firms that can match the level of certifications and accreditations that SPYRUS has for its hardware and software. SPYRUS’s hardened endpoints are the most secure in the industry — FIPS 140-2 Level 3 validated, ensuring both physical and logical security controls resulting in an anti-tamper design that provides military-grade encryption and multi-factor authentication for any enterprise.

“We use Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) encryption in our solutions, and this technology is arguably the most secure method you can deploy,” states Evans. SPYRUS provides a comprehensive endpoint management platform called DevicePatrol that includes a unique device management server and a family of security tokens that enable remote connectivity to teleworkers’ corporate networks. Deploying devices with sensitive data requires that usage policy obeys the rules of data access and usage. The guidelines are downloaded and stored on the device and are enforced. Roles and privileges authorize different levels of device control, such as device disablement or destruction decisions.

SPYRUS’s encrypting storage drives also contain the facility for capturing the metadata for all file transfers and off-line user activity. Users can detect suspicious operational behaviors and take corrective actions, including destroying a device in the user’s hands. For example, this management system allows users to enforce a policy of operation that precludes off-line device operation. Together with a command to either disable or “kill” a device, render the data absolutely inaccessible by a rogue employee.

This is all possible due to the SPYRUS Rosetta enabled device. Rosetta chips support more cryptographic algorithms than any other commercial product and dynamically allocates nonvolatile memory. These devices can be controlled by SPYRUS NcryptNshare application to encrypt files and control access in the cloud or wherever they are stored. The application ‘seals’ the file closed and can detect if a file has been tampered with (for instance, by malware), and by owning the key, only the user can control access to the file.

SPYRUS delivers the solution on-premise or in the cloud or a hybrid model and takes less than 30 days to deploy based on configurations and clients’ infrastructure. For instance, SPYRUS has installed its solution in an office of the Canadian government, where there are approximately 1500-2000 users. The company went through a process to be certified to deliver highly classified materials and meet the Canadian government’s standards and requirements. The government standardized on Microsoft Surface devices embedded with MicroSD chips permanently. SPYRUS ensures a hundred percent encryption around the clock for any communication or transmission of data within those computers at the government office through its solution.

“We break our business into two aspects, which is about protecting data and access to networks,” adds Evans. Many customers have already implemented SPYRUS’s technology and embedded it into the actual products they manufacture. Forging ahead, SPYRUS will be focusing on the IoT and OEM markets that are growing aggressively. It will be the lead flagship for the upcoming year and a significant revenue driver for the company.

SPYRUS Named a "Most Promising Public Sector Solution Providers - 2020"

Tuesday, December 15, 2020

SAN JOSE, Calif - SPYRUS Solutions, Inc (“SPYRUS”) announced it has been named one of the top 10companies at the forefront of providing solutions for the public sector by CIO Review Magazine. SPYRUS was selected due to its comprehensive, end-to-end security solution which includes military grade encryption and multi-factor authentication (MFA) for user access and protection of data at rest, in motion, and in use for by governments and other industries like higher education, financial services and insurance.Read the article at https://public-sector.cioreview.com/vendor/2020/spyrus

The SPYRUS DevicePatrol™ Platform includes a unique device management server and a family of security tokens that are comprised of cryptographic and physical security with MFA. The complete solution supports offline use, with enterprise-enforced limitations—crucial in the current environment with an overloaded Internet infrastructure and VPN gateways.

The DevicePatrol Server is an award-winning endpoint management and security solution for any enterprise that is mandated to secure personally identifiable information (PII) data or wants to protect confidential corporate information at rest, in motion or in use. Software-based, the DevicePatrol Server can be deployed in the cloud, on-premise, or a hybrid configuration. Administrators easily can update policies by groups of devices or individual users to set data usage limits, audit device activity, recover forgotten passwords, or “kill” a compromised device, rendering all data and tokens useless.

SPYRUS DevicePatrol Tokens provide a convenient and cost-effective way to store and share files while on the go. SPYRUS tokens support Authentication, Encrypted Authentication, and Bootable Encrypted Authentication, and are available in USB or MicroSD formats. Each security token contains a Rosetta security controller, a FIPS 140-2 level 3 validated, that generates and stores cryptographic keys to provide military grade MFA, digital signature and data protection.

“SPYRUS is excited to be part of CIO Review Magazine’s prestigious list,” stated Grant Evans, CEO of SPYRUS. “We have been protecting employees and data of US government agencies and the associated industrial base with cost-effective solutions for more than twenty years. This award validates our unique and comprehensive approach with our DevicePatrol platform.”
